Shooting Star – Sugar Scrub Recipe

The temperature has certainly dropped this week, and this cold weather plays havoc with my skin, so I have whipped together some lovely sugar scrub tablets.

These little individual bars are so easy and fun to make and make perfect gifts for friends, family or colleagues. They would also slip very nicely into a Christmas stocking.

I love how versatile they are, you can add any colours or essential oils that you would like.

This is how I made them.

Ingredients:

1/4 Cup Coconut Oil

1/2 Cup Soap Base

1 Cup Sugar

Silicone Mould

Food Colouring

15 Drops of Essential Oil

Glitter (optional)

Carefully melt the soap base in a pan over the stove.

Once it is completely melted take off the heat and add the coconut oil and stir until dissolved.

Once the coconut oil has completely dissolved add the sugar and stir well.

At this point you may need need to re heat, so it is runny enough to pour into the moulds.

Add the colouring and essential oils.

I sprinkled glitter into the mould before I poured in the scrub mixture.

Leave for at least 2 hours to set solid and then turn the sugar scrub tablets out of the mould.

The sugar is a great exfoliator and the coconut oil helps to keep your skin soft and hydrated.
