My girls lose hair clips quicker than I can make them or buy them. I am convinced there is an algorithm which would work out the correlation between how much they cost/how long they took to make vs how quickly they lose them…. so this week I decided to whip them up a set of new rainbow bows to take on holiday next month.
They are so easy to make but look really cute.
Stylecraft DK Yarn
A 3.5mm hook
Ch – Chain
Sl – Slip Stitch
HDC – Half Double Crochet
Ch 40 and Sl to the first chain, being careful not to twist the chain.
Ch 2 then do a HDC in each stitch. Sl into the first HDC.
Repeat until you have 8 rows, and a little cuff as below. Finish off leaving a long thread.
Pinch the cuff on both sides as above. Then use the long thread to wrap around the centre of the bow, and secure with either a knot or a dab of glue. And there you have a gorgeous little puffy bow. They can be made in any colour and any size. I have attached clip blanks which I bought online. I prefer crocodile clips as they are easier to attach and hold in my children’s hair better. Now they have a whole rainbow of bows to match any outfit or mood. They also look really cute hung up on their clip holder in the bedroom.I can’t wait to see your bows, please do send me pictures of the ones you make. Please don’t forget that there are still three more days until I draw my Double Craft Giveaway, so if you haven’t entered yet you still have time. Just subscribe to my blog and comment on the Giveaway Post stating which craft box you would like to win, the mummy box or the kids box. They are great prizes, and my way of saying thank you for all your support and kind words this year.
