It has been a busy week in the ‘Hooked’ household. We had our first visit from the tooth fairy. Twinkle was very excited about waking up and finding the ‘fairy dust’ trailing through her room. I managed to find (at very short notice I should add) a one pound coin with a unicorn on the back….
Before you ask… the booboo on the nose is from a hola hooping accident….
I have been working on a crochet clutch bag, which is taking longer than expected, although I have finally chosen my lining fabric.
I am making the inner layer of the clutch from this pretty pink material, which I think goes really nicely with the grey yarn which has a mauve tone. I have finished the first round of crochet flowers for the outer layer of the bag and am currently blocking them. Once they have dried, I need to sew in all those loose ends before I start on the next round as they are starting to get in the way. I am not looking forward to that!
Now….I feel a confession coming on… I can’t sew. I don’t mean, ‘oh I can’t sew a thing… look at this lovely dress I just whipped up’ I mean I CAN NOT SEW. Sewing the gubbins of this bag together from a technical point of view is going to be a challenge. It is a good job I have a trip to visit my mother coming up, I am going to need some expert advice!
Twinkle has also been working on her ongoing WIP. She is using the knitting loom, she got for her birthday, to make a scarf.
Just look at that concentration!
I would highly recommend this loom to any children who are interested in crafting using yarn but perhaps aren’t quite proficient enough to make something large by knitting or crochet. It is currently 65% off at Amazon (it wasn’t when I bought it….!).
I wish you all a chocolatey, family filled Easter. Me and my waist line will see you on the other side!
beautiful colors!
Thank you! X
I’ll have to check that loom out – my daughter’s bday is coming up! Happy Easter to you too!! 🌸
My daughter loves hers! 🐰
I love those colors you chose for the clutch – can’t wait to see the finished product!
