Terracotta is very much on trend this season. Whether you are looking at the fashion pages, furniture or interior design, terracotta makes an appearance throughout.
I bought mini Terracotta plant pots for Twinkles 5th Birthday, and we gave a pot and seed paper to each child in place of a party bag. I had three left over, so I thought I would have some fun decorating them.
I am a bit of a sucker for sparkly nail varnish and over the years have built up quite a supply. I thought It would be really fun to experiment using these varnishes on the terracotta.
I used washi tape to make a geometric shapes on one of the pots.
I then used the varnish to decorate the others freehand. There are no rules here, just have fun.
I think they came out really well and even better they didn’t cost me a penny.
I am using my pots indoors but you could add a coat of outdoor Modge Podge, if you wanted to decorate planters for the garden. I have just bought two giant versions of these and will be doing just that.
I bought these sweet little succulents to plant in my pots. I think they will look really sweet on my kitchen window sill.
